John Pierro, Junior Animator / Assistant Animator
John Pierro High school art class was fun! My teacher seemed to think I was real good too! Anyhow after graduation I found myself in an assembly line installing air conditioners for Toyota, at a port in Newark NJ. Two years and several thousand cars later; I began to think. Well, of course this thinking thing led to rebellion at my job, which in turn got me fired. But this thinking thing, you see it kept happening. I thought I want to go to Art School! Well anyhow you can see where this is going. I was accepted into Pratt Institute in 1990. I had the help and guidance of my wonderful, talented, and supportive high school art teacher George Miller. I was privileged to have another great and inspirational teacher Dave Passalagua at Pratt, to help me with this whole thinking thing. Dave gave me a kick when and where I needed it and a helping hand to get back up. Next into Florida and the Disney internships. I was hired in 1994 and I stayed until the fall of Disney in 2004. I left Disney with my wife Jacque, also a Disney artist. We began work on our own dream and our own work as Pierro Studios. I’ve found some time to work at Cecropia and make something fun and special.
